Between breakout podcast Serial, Netflix?s wildly successful documentary series Making a Murderer, and hit TV shows that present a dramatized take on real events like The People vs. Simpson, it seems safe to say that the true crime genre is experiencing a renaissance in popular culture not seen in quite some time. Likely hoping to both ride that wave for awhile longer and try to continue their momentum from Making a Murderer, Netflix will soon debut a documentary film looking at the murder trials, convictions, and subsequent acquittals of Amanda Knox. Simply titled Amanda Knox, the documentary seeks to present an all-encompassing look at both sides of her tumultuous journey through Italy?s legal system.
