Downton Abbey Fans, brace yourself! Actress Maggie Smith has signed on to reprise her role as Violet Crawley in the upcoming period drama film. This news comes as a shock to fans, since she previously said she wouldn't do it because she's too old. The show came to an end last year after it's fifth season, but creator Julian Fellowes has always mentioned that he wanted to turn the popular series into a movie. Fellowes has also said that he had trouble getting his star studded cast to free up their filming schedule. Production will most likely begin next year.
