It may have been her first pop single in three years but Lady Gaga?s ?Perfect Illusion,? only debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. That is, objectively, not great. Not for Gaga, anyway. (Her last lead single, ?Applause,? debuted at No. 6 and peaked at No. 4; the one before that, ?Born This Way,? debuted at No.1.) After watching ?Perfect Illusion? free-fall out of the U.S. iTunes Top 50 starting the day after its release, a Top 20 debut is better than fans could have hoped for. It?s not even that bad relative to other pop stars? recent performance on the same chart.
