In the midst of one of the most controversial Presidential races in America's history, it was impossible for the Emmy's to ignore the state of the country, particularly the candidacy of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Several of the announcers made jokes about Trump and his running for President but one thing was clear, no one was in support of him whatsoever. Creator of the show 'Transparent' said of Trump, "He's a complete dangerous monster and any moment that I have to call Trump out for being an inheritor of Hitler, I will."
