Veep actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus won her fifth consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. That win breaks the record she once shared with Candace Bergen and Mary Tyler Moore for most wins in the category.
She launched into a speech that quickly veered into the comedy we've come to expect from one of TV's funniest women. She said, "I think that Veep has torn down the wall between comedy and politics. Our show started out as a political satire, but now feels more like a sobering documentary."
