50-year-old Halle Berry has had a successful career as an Oscar-winning actress, but the star says it wasn't easy for her to be taken seriously in Hollywood in the beginning of her career. As a former pageant girl and model, Berry says she had to work hard to get industry professionals to take her seriously. She told W magazine, "I came from the world of beauty pageants and modeling and right away when people heard that I got discounted as an actor.
