Tony Shalhoub is headed for Amazon. Set in the 1950s, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel centers on Miriam ?Midge? Maisel (House of Cards' Rachel Brosnahan). Midge has had her life mapped out for herself ? go to college, find a husband, have 2.5 kids and throw the best Yom Kippur dinners in her elegant Manhattan apartment. For Shalhoub, the role comes days after his CBS political satire BrainDead wrapped its first season. The series has not yet been renewed for season two, but creators Robert and Michelle King have previously spoken about having an anthology-type plan for the show, with each season taking place in a new setting.
