Former 'Monk' star Tony Shalhoub has been cast in the Amazon drama pilot ?The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." In the show, Shaloub will play Abe Weissman, father to the show's main character Miriam ?Midge? Maisel, who will be played by 'House of Cards' Rachael Brosnahan. A description of Shaloub's Weissman says he is an academic and intellectual who believes in books and facts and speaks as little as possible. Set in the 1950s, the drama follows Brosnahan's Maisel who originally has her life mapped out.
