HBO has teamed up with the duo behind Breaking Bad for a limited-run series about the Jonestown massacre, starring Octavia Spencer who will also executive produce. The series, titled "Raven," will be based on the book "Raven: The Untold Story of Jim Jones and His People" by Tim Reiterman, who was a Jonestown survivor. The series will explore the history of Jim Jones' Peoples Temple Agricultural Project in Guyana, founded in 1955 and gone in 1978 after 918 of Jones' followers drank poison.
