Aisling Walsh's Maudie, starring Ethan Hawke and Sally Hawkins, will open this year's Vancouver Film Festival, organizers said Wednesday. Maudie stars Hawkins as the arthritic artist who overcame her physical disability to become one of Canada?s most famous folk artists, with Ethan Hawke playing her husband. Maudie, a Canada-Ireland pic bowing in Telluride, will also screen in Toronto and open the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, before heading to Vancouver
