VIDEO : Jessie J Wins Court Case Over 2011 Hit Song

On Friday, Jessie J scored a victory when a U.S. appeals court rejected a songwriter's claim that British singer stole the melody from one of his songs for her 2011 hit tune "Domino." The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Friday that the songwrite, Will Loomis, did not show that Jessie J and other writers for the song had access to his 2008 ballad "Bright Red Chords," and that his copyright was infringed. Circuit Judge Richard Clifton added in the ruling that the "bare corporate receipt" of Loomis' song was not enough to let the case go to trial. "Domino" peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached No. 1 in the UK.
