Next week marks the 50th aniversary of the beloved television show "Star Trek". The original series created by Gene Roddenberry lasted for only three years but has given rise to a host of equally beloved spin-offs shows and films. Often the most hotly contested point is who is the best starfleet captain? Each Captains comes with their own personality quirks and important story arcs and become icons of each iteration of the franchise. Some of the most beloved are the original captain, James Kirk, Jean-luc Picard and Benjamin Sisko. The series has also given rise to other iconic figures like officer Spock, who was played by the late leonnard nemoy.
