The most recent installment in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, opened as a play on the London stage at the end of July. Meanwhile, on screen, the Harry Potter universe continues to expand with a prequel based on one of the Hogwarts textbooks. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne and directed by David Yates, comes to screens this November. The film, also written by J.K. Rowling, tells the story of Newt Scamander in the witching world of New York City in the 1920s. The film with be the first in a new series from Warner Brothers.
Now, it seems that the studio is already looking past the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, and onto the possibility of bringing Harry Potter And The Cursed Child to the big screen ? with a familiar face back in a starring role. According to a report by NY Daily News, WB are already in talks to turn Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a movie, with a potential release date planned for as early as 2020. The source also claims that the studio wants the original star of the franchise, Daniel Radcliffe, to reprise his role in the film.
