According to his family on Monday, actor Gene Wilder, who starred in films such as "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and "Blazing Saddles," passed away at the age of 83. Wilder's family added in their statement that he died at his home in Stamford, Connecticut, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. According to his nephew, Wilder had chosen to keep his Alzheimer's hidden so that children who knew him as Willy Wonka would not link the character with an adult disease.
