According to TheWrap, John Legend will executive produce an upcoming new series on WGN America based on the true story of the so-called Black Wall Street. Black Wall Street was a nickname given to the Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, an area that was once one of the wealthiest and most affluent black communities in the United States in the early 20th century. However, race riots broke out in 1921, during which much of the neighborhood was destroyed and over 300 black people were killed. The currently untitled series is in the early stages of development.
