Hogan's lawsuit put the company in financial jeopardy and it was announced today that Gawker will be shutting down in a week after being won in an auction by Univision. It was reported that Nick Denton, the company?s outgoing CEO, had informed current staffers of the site?s fate on, which was just hours before a bankruptcy court in Manhattan would decide whether to approve Univision?s bid for Gawker Media?s other assets.
