According to Variety, "True Detective" director Nic Pizzolatto and Robert Downey Jr. are talking to HBO about reviving the legal drama "Perry Mason." One of television?s longest-running and most successful series, the show starred Raymond Burr as the title character, and ran from 1957 to 1966. The "Iron Man" actor - who had tried to revive the property once before as a film in 2011, would play the lead, while Pizzolatto would be attached to write. If the series gets off the ground, it will mark Downey Jr?s first television appearance since "Ally McBeal."
