Recently, Saturday Night Live announced that Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam would be leaving SNL before the final year of their seven year contracts. At the time, Killam mentioned that he thought he might have been let go due to an upcoming project. Today, Showtime announced that both Pharaoh and Killam will star in separate pilots set to debut in 2017, which most likely would have begun filming before the end of SNL Season 42. Pharoah will play the lead in the half-hour comedy "White Famous" about a young black comedian who navigates the world of white stardom. Meanwhile, Killam will star in "Mating," a half-hour comedy from Friday Night Lights' Jason Katims about a young divorced man who starts dating again.
