Rihanna is being honored at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. MTV announced Thursday that the pop star will earn the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the Aug. 28 show. She will also perform during the awards. Rihanna has won the VMA for video of the year twice. Past winners of the Video Vanguard Award include Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Guns N' Roses, Beyonce, Kanye west, and Justin Timberlake. The VMAs will air live from Madison Square Garden.
