Michael Weatherly left NCIS in May after 13 seasons, but he won't be gone from the CBS schedule for long. The actor returns to the small screen this fall as the star of the network's rookie legal drama Bull. Weatherly told reporters Wednesday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, "It came about at the right time. I was burnt out by NCIS and I was ready for a new challenge," adding "Sometimes change is as good as a rest." Bull is based on the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw during his days as head of one of the most prolific trial consulting services of all time. Weatherly portrays Dr. Bull, the head of a company that analyzes juries to help develop defense strategies.
