VIDEO : John Mellencamp Breaks Up With Uptown Girl, Christie Brinkley

Singer John Mellencamp and former supermodel Christie Brinkley have just split up after a year of being together. Bonus points to anyone who knew they were dating in the first place. They still have their own spokesperson for the relationship though, and they said that the couple are alling it quits because the mileage between them and the demands of their career were just to much to overcome. Apparently Mellencamp didn't realize that Brinkley is an "Uptown Girl" just like the Billy Joel song that was written for her. The Brinkley Mellencamp spokesperson said that the two former lovers will remain friends. No word yet on whether Mellencamp and Billy Joel will co-write a song about Brinkley.
