Mariah Carey is set to guest-star on Empire's third season, as announced on Monday at the Television Critics ASsociation's summer press tour. Carey will play a character named Kitty, a superstar who is collaborating with Jamal on a new tune. The episode will air on October 5, with Carey's character helping Jamal dig deep to overcome personal difficulties and get to a musical breakthrough. Carey will be joining previously announced season three guest stars like Kid Cudi, Birdman, and French Montana.
