Bradley Cooper has partnered with an author to develop a mini-series following the rise of the Islamic State.
The HBO program will be based on the book, Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS, written by Joby Warrick.
The book published earlier this year.
Black Flags traces the roots of the militant caliphate as it transformed from a small group with origins in a remote Jordanian prison.
Cooper will produce the HBO adaptation, which will dramatize events in the book, through his production company.
