Katy Perry has written the song "Rise" for the 2016 Olympics and has just released the music video for the song just in time, before the games begin. The video shows her running through desert rocks and floating in water, struggling to get her parachute to launch. Perry eventually does take flight, literally rising off the ground.
Although she faces many obstacles trying to get her parachute to rise, she continues to try to find a way to do so.
Perry said in a statement that Olympic athletes are a reminder of uniting and trying to be the best one can be. Regarding her song she said, quote, "I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together.?
