On Wednesday social media was in an uproar about the nude vacation photos of Orlando Bloom published by the New York Daily news. Of course, the pictures did not fully show Bloom's penis, covering it up with a black box. Of course, some people found the unedited photo and spread it like wildfire. While memes were made and witty comments tweeted, many are left wondering, what's the big deal? Female nudity has never been an issue for the media showing up repeatedly in HBO and SHOWTIME series and a great deal of other shows. SO what is it about the male form that is so taboo?
