Chinese director Zhang Yimou has come to the defense of Matt Damon after much criticism of why the lead role in the movie,"The Great Wall," is not played by a Chinese man.
Yimou's response was that the role was never created for a Chinese actor and told Entertainment Weekly's website that the arrival of Damon's character is an important plot point in the $150 million fantasy movie made by China and Hollywood.
