Actor Willem Dafoe has officially joined the cast of the movie adaptation of the popular Japanese comic Death Note. In the film, Dafoe will reportedly play Ryuk, a shinigami. Based on the Japanese manga, Death Note follows Nat Wolff's high school student character who comes across a supernatural notebook that gives him the ability to kill anyone by writing their name. Dafoe's long list of credits speaks for itself: He was previously The Green Goblin in the original Spider-Man trilogy and is also known for his roles in Finding Nemo, Platoon, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The 'Death Note' movie is set to debut on Netflix in 2017.
