Stephen Colbert was recently informed by the legal team at Comedy Central that his beloved character from his previous show, is the intellectual property of his previous network.
According to the late night host and comedian, Stephen Colbert of CBS's The Late Show, can no longer be Stephen Colbert from the Colbert Report.
The legal jousting came after Colbert ran a similar segment on his CBS show, to one from his show on Comedy Central.
But he can still be himself.
Instead, he can no longer portray the character he developed and embodied at Comedy Central.
