During a recent interview with Yahoo at San Diego Comic Con, actor Charlie Hunnam revealed that he won't be returning for the sequel to the film Pacific Rim. Hunnam did say however that he is thrilled the film is being made, adding, "I'm very excited about it! I'm glad they're making it. I think it's going to be great. I read an early draft of what they're doing. There was one incarnation of this sequel that involved me heavily, but I was unavailable." He then said, "I think they're on to something special. They're really inspired to push this thing forward and to do something original with the sequels. It's cool." Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters sometime in 2018.
