VIDEO : 'The Big Bang Theory' Casts Penny's Mom and Brother

At The Big Bang Theory's 2016 San Diego Comic-Con panel this week it was announced that actress Katey Sagal will be playing Kaley Cuoco's Penny's mom when the show returns this fall. Sagal and Cuoco previously played mother and daughter on the program, 8 Simple Rules, which ran on ABC from 2002 to 2005. Sagal is slated to appear in the first episode of Big Bang Theory's upcoming season, along with Penny's brother, who will be played by '30 Rock's' Jack McBrayer. The Big Bang Theory returns to CBS on September 19 at 8 PM.
