VIDEO : 'Motown: The Musical' To Close Soon After Opening

After the opening night performance of "Motown: The Musical," the cast got some bad news. Producer Kevin McCollum told them the show will be ending its Broadway revival early. The musical, which tells the story of Motown Record's history from the perspective of founder Berry Gordy, was expected to run until November 13, but having already faced lackluster box-office sales, producers decided they will pull the plug after the July 31 performance. The original production ran for 775 performances between 2013 to 2015 and also completed a national tour.
