VIDEO : Shailene Woodley Wasn't Told 'Divergent' Might Be Straight-to-TV Release

So?no one thought to tell the movie?s star?
Yesterday news broke that, after the lackluster box office on Allegiant the second film in the Divergent series, Lionsgate is reportedly considering making the last film, Ascendant, a TV release, with a possible series to follow. However, it appears Shailene Woodley wasn?t informed of the new strategy.
?Honestly, I was on a plane when all that happened and I landed, and I?m like ?Whoa, what?s going on?!?? she told Deadline while discussing her role in the new Oliver Stone film Snowden. ?I need to talk and find out what the details are.?
Allegiant made roughly $179 million worldwide, and it cost $110 million to produce, not accounting for marketing expenses. So rumblings of a new, alternative strategy to a big theater release make sense, despite the internal confusion.
Ascendant was scheduled to go into production this summer.
