Actress Kirsten Dunst is moving behind the cameras for the first time with a film adaptation of Sylvia Plath?s novel ?The Bell Jar.? Dunst also co-wrote the script for the movie with Nellie Kim and production is set to begin next year. Dunst has confirmed that she will not appear in the movie herself. Dakota Fanning is set to star in the film as Esther Greenwood, a young woman who takes an internship at a magazine in New York before suffering a breakdown and returning home to Boston. Dunst has previously directed two short films - Welcome, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and Bastard, which was showed at Tribeca and Cannes. Most recently, Dunst was seen in Jeff Nichols? Midnight Special.
