VIDEO : Final Divergent Film May Go Straight To TV

According to Variety, the fourth film in the "Divergent" series, Ascendant, may be turned into a TV movie to be followed by a TV series. The film was originally slated to premiere in June 2017, but sources say that Lionsgate is reconsidering after the third film, "Allegiant," didn't perform as well at the box office. Lionsgate declined to comment, but Variety says that the plan is to finish the story from the books with the current cast, including Shailene Woodley and Theo James, and then to introduce new cast members for a television series set in the same world as the movies.
