Kirsten Dunst will make her feature film directorial debut with an adaptation of Sylvia Plath?s classic novel "The Bell Jar." Nellie Kim co-wrote the script with Dunst, and Dakota Fanning has signed on to play the protagonist, Esther Greenwood. Plath's novel, set in 1950s New York, follows Greenwood through her struggles with mental illness and its treatments. Dunst has previously directed two short films. A release date has not yet been announced.
