VIDEO : Starz to Wrap Up 'Black Sails' After Fourth Season

On Wednesday, Starz announced that the fourth season of the 'Treasure Island' prequel pirate drama 'Black Sails' will be its last. 'Black Sails' is scheduled to return with a 10-episode fourth and final season in 2017. The first three seasons of the show have averaged 3.6 million viewers. It has also been distributed in nearly 200 countries around the world and has won Emmy awards for visual effects and sound editing. The program's co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg said after the announcement, "While it was a difficult decision for us to make this season our last, we simply couldn't imagine anything beyond it that would make for a better ending to the story nor a more natural handoff to Treasure Island."
