In the newly released book "Powerhouse: The Untold Story of Hollywood's Creative Artists," Sarah Jessica Parker reveals she was initially reluctant to sign on to do "Sex and the City." Her agent told her that Darren Star, the creator of the show, wrote the pilot with her in mind. Parker reportedly responded, ?I feel like I?ve got it all right now. I can do a play, then do a movie, then do a play, then do a movie. Do I really want to go back to making a television series when I?m maybe held hostage signing a long-term contract??
