VIDEO : Star Trek Beyond Expects Lower Opening Box Office Than Into Darkness

Celebrity in this news:

Sources at The Wrap predict that Star Trek Beyond will have the lowest opening box office numbers of any of the films in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot. The first movie in 2009 opened at $75 million, then Into Darkness opened at $70 million. Now Star Trek Beyond is predicted to make only $60 million in its opening weekend. The film is directed by Justin Lin, who's accredited with revamping the Fast & Furious franchise. The film has received positive reviews from critics though with a current rating on Rotten Tomatoes of 93%. The movie is bound to be an entertaining summer film, and it will probably manage to do well overall in box office numbers until Suicide Squad comes out in two weeks.
