Prepare yourself for some sad news, Friends. Beloved writer and director Garry Marshall has passed away at the age of 81 according to E Online News. Penny Marshall his younger sister just confirmed the heartbreaking news to CBS. Marshall built a career of hit after hit in television and film. He created the popular television series "Happy Days" starring Henry Winkler and Ron Howard. Winkler took to concours-twitter.htm">twitter to express his condolences. He wrote, "Rest In Peace...Thank you for my professional life. Thank you for your loyalty , friendship and generosity." Marshall was old school and new school. His most recent film "Mother's Day" just came out in April so his career is the very definition of longevity. He did it all with class, style, and a warm smile. Rest In Peace Mr. Marshall. You will be missed.
