Antonio Banderas will be playing Gianni Versace in an upcoming biopic from director, Bille August. August previously directed Banderas in "The Home Of The Spirits". Banderas has been doing some unintended research for the role by studying design at Central Saint Martins in London. He even gave a nod to Versace by including gold accents in his biker jacket design. The fashion company, Versace told the press they have nothing to do with the film so it will be a work of "pure fiction" according to them. Reports from the Italian media say that August will begin filming the project in December, first in Milan and then they will move to the town where Versace was born, Reggio Calabria. Versace was killed on July 15th 1997 outside of his South Beach home by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
