One person was notably absent from the celebration: Mets pitcher Dwight "Doc" Gooden. Though team reps claimed that their prodigiously talented young hurler had "overslept," the hotshot player was actually watching the parade at home while coming down from a night of heavy partying at the home of his cocaine dealer.
