VIDEO : Gene Roddenberry's Son Says It's About Time We Had A Gay 'Sulu'

Now that Hikaru Sulu has been outed everyone from Boston to Los Angeles has weighed in on whether or not it's a good idea for the Star Trek franchise. Gene Roddenberry's son Rod says he thinks his father would have liked the change. Rod told reporters, ""I think he would be 100 percent in favor of a gay character in 'Star Trek," said Roddenberry during an interview Tuesday. "There's so much going on in the world today. I think he would love any sort of social issue being brought into 'Star Trek.
