When Warner Brothers first announced theyt weren?t just moving forward with a Suicide Squad movie, but were calling on certified Hollywood stars and an acclaimed director, fans started cheering in disbelief. But those cheers vanished when it was confirmed that the collection of DC villains would also include a new take on The Joker. Fans were surprised that Oscar winner Jared Leto landed the part. Director David Ayer knew fans might have trouble imagining the normally glam Leto as the Joker, so he went to the comics for inspiration on how to dress and make up Joker. One of the biggest inspirations was 'The Killing Joke' a famous graphic novel. Another graphic novel that inspired Ayers was ?Joker? by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo.
