Expecting Will Smith to always be the hero, many were surprised when he joined the cast of Suicide Squad, playing Deadshot (a.k.a. Floyd Lawton).
Smith said that at first glance he wanted the role because he wanted to work with director David Ayer, but, more importantly, he wanted to play against the usual type. Simith told Entertainment Weekly: ?I had never played a character that legitimately didn?t give a [care]." The star said that at first it was hard to understand the concep tof killing for money, but said that Ayer gave him a book that helped him get the concept and apply it.
