Many of us remember Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible' as being about the 17th century Salem witch trials. However, the present revival of 'The Crucible' now on Broadway comes closer to representing Miller's original intention of presenting a parable about current societal issues. Rolling Stone sat down with actor Ben Whishaw who portrays John Proctor in the play to discuss how the Broadway revival points to societal issues of our time. The play calls attention to everything from immigration issues to Brexit. Whishaw says, "The Crucible seems to kind of speak to the moment, whatever the moment might be."
