During an event to promote homeless charity The Big Issue in London, Mark Hamill mentioned ?I finish Episode VIII, and then I?m out of work.? The social media wolrd had a hernia with the statement with many reading this as a ?clue? that Luke Skywalker will meet his demise in Rian Johnson?s saga installment. The actor later took to Twitter to clarify what exactly he meant by his comment, writing:
I meant "out of work" because #Ep8 is wrapping soon, OK? #DontOverThinkEVERYTHING #ParsingHamill #WaitForVIII
This isn't Hamill's first rodeo with keeping filming secrets. He was one of the few individuals who knew Darth Vader?s true relation to Luke while filming The Empire Strikes Back. His Episode VII contract stipulated that a payment could be withheld if he revealed any of that film?s mysteries. The actor always keeps a close guard up when it comes to details about his projects.
