Ina recent interview Jesse Williams talked about his BET speech, but also took the time to speak of the late Anton Yelchin, who tragically passed earlier this month. After the actor had been awarded the Humanitarian Award at the 2016 BET Awards, he gave an incredibly moving speech on racism, human rights and police brutality. Jesse said that he wanted to represent "the incredible protestors, activists, attorneys, organizers that are sacrificing an incredibly great deal to be heard and get access to equal rights and justice in this country" adding, ?The BET Awards recognizing me is really recognizing them in my view, and I think that means that we?re getting traction.? Williams also opened about Yelchin?s death and how it affected him. ?He was just a really gentle soul but I found his talent to be really radiant and I always made a point to see anything I saw he was in,? he shared.
