Oliver Stone was careful to point out that his latest film, 'Snowden' is not a political film in an interview panel at Cannes Lions Film Festival. Joseph Gordon Levitt stars as Edward Snowden in what Stone is calling an intellectual thriller. Snowden himself worked as an adviser on the film to make sure the details were factual and the lingo was correct. The film covers Snowden's life from the present back to his military service before the CIA came calling. Stone had to go outside of hollywood to finance the film. Stone stated, "?We did not get financing from any of the US majors. They all turned it down on the basis of the subject. Essentially we got it made by the skin of our teeth.?
