In an autopsy report issued on Thursday, the Anoka County medical examiner determined that pop icon Prince died of an accidental, self-administered overdose of an opioid painkiller called Fentanyl. Opioids had been the suspected cause of death after prescription medications were found at the scene and after reports that the singer had been struggling with addiction. Fentanyl is highly addictive and is more powerful than morphine. It is often sold illegally in the U.S.
