Sources say that Marvel has begun negotiations with Larson, and their chances might improve once they sign on a director. Captain Marvel is based on a story about a young female pilot named Carol Danvers who gains her superpowers in a freak accident that combines an alien's dna with her own, giving her the power of flight and the ability to throw energy bolts.
